Meet an Astronaut!!!

Houston, we have an astronaut! Astronaut Dottie Metcalf-Lindenburg, a retired astronaut who was a Mission Specialist on STS-131 and has logged over 362 hours in space, has graciously agreed to give a 30-minute virtual presentation about herself and her time in space to our NESSP ROADS participants. Afterward, she will take student questions for about 15 minutes. Your students can ask questions live at the event, and you can pre-submit questions at the bottom of this page.

Afterward, we will spend about 20 to 30 minutes recognizing the MDL submissions of virtual teams and selecting the “top” Mission Objectives from all MDL submissions. Finally, one “Lunar Landing” high school and middle school team that made a virtual submission will win a trip to Kennedy Space Center!

Who can join?

All students, families, and teachers are welcome to join! Please invite your whole class or share this information with the students on your team and their parents so they can participate from home. We won’t post the “Meet the Astronaut” session on YouTube, but we can send the recording to all teams to watch later.

Pre-submit your questions for Astronaut Dottie Metcalf-Lindenburg!
