Mini-Mission Information and Application

  • April 23rd and 28th – Mini-Mission Information Sessions
  • May 9th – Step 1 Application Closes (Final notification of acceptance sent by May 14th.)
  • May 6th, 14th, 19th – Mini-Mission Training: Preparing your mission (required)
  • May 30th – Step 2 application closes
  • June 9-20th: Mini-Mission Specific Training (Times/Dates TBD)

Before completing Step 1, please:

  • Read the Mini-Mission frequently asked questions.
  • Be ready to provide the mini-mission type, mini-mission date, location, and estimated number of students.
  • Review the forms required for your the step 1 portion of the application:
    • Mini-Mission Statement of Work (what is required to receive your materials and stipend)
    • Signed W-9 forms for all instructors requesting stipends.
    • The contract that will be sent to your organization’s Authorized Official.
  • Review forms that require parent signatures:

What happens next? After you submit Step 1, NESSP will email within 2 weeks you to let you know whether your application has been accepted. If accepted, we will send the contract to your organization’s Authorized Official for signature.


After your organization’s Authorized Official signs the contract, you will be emailed Step 2 of the registration process. Please complete Step 2 at least three weeks before your mini-mission begins.

Before completing Step 2 you must:

  • Attending the required training, “Preparing to Host a Mini-Mission,” on May 6th, May 15th or May 20, 2024 (see the Events page for details). The session will help you complete the items below.
  • Student Information Spreadsheet with participant details.
  • Finalize your schedule — include dates, times, locations, and a brief description of planned activities. Be ready to upload this document.

What happens next? Once you complete Step 2 of your application, we’ll mail your mini-mission materials.
